Two of the main stems we produce are Gate stems and Globe stems, which mainly have an acme thread, that are used in valves for oxygen, acids, sea water etc. Both Gate stems and globe stems are made from materials such as Aluminium bronze, Stainless, Nickel alloys, Duplex, Super Duplex, inconel and Titanium, Monel etc. | | This is a typical Valve stem more specificaly a gate stem that is machined from Alloy 500 and has a two start left hand acme thread that is over 1 metre in length. | | This is a typical Globe stem that is machined from Alloy 400 and has a single start UN thread form.
| | This is a typical Gate stem mandrel that is machined from aluminium bronze and has a two start left hand acme thread. | | This is an area of expertise for us with the Valve stems being manufactured in sizes from 20mm diameter by up to 1 metre in length. These are all finish turned using a CNC lathe to a tolerance of + / - 0.02mm with a surface finish of 0.4 to 0.8. |
