Sterling Machining started life towards the end of 2001. Formed by the three Directors following the closure of their previous employer, they acquired several CNC Lathes along with a variety of manual machines and it soon became apparent that we as a company would specialise in the area of precision machining and precision machined parts.
We initially established the company to manufacture a large variety of extrusion tooling such as, Dies, Mandrels and Pressure Pads etc. The extrusion tooling sector still provides around 30% of our turn over. However within a few months it was obvious that there was a large demand for high quality Subcontract machining. We found that our speciality in machining long slender shafts and various other difficult to machine components, including heat resistant super alloys like Inconel, Monel and Nimonic etc was something that other companies declined which gave us a niche in certain markets.
This enabled the Company to grow rapidly. Doubling in size in terms of turnover and profit every year for the first 5 years. This allowed us as a company to invest in even more CNC Machinery, to include CNC Lathes and CNC Milling Machines, thus expanding our size range and enabling us to apply our specialised expertise to these areas.
With the knowledge and experience gained in engineering products that are used throughout the world, we operate to high specifications and tolerances as well as maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
We have continued to grow and in 2008 we purchased and relocated to our current larger premises on Speedwell Industrial Estate, Staveley, employing 16 people and occupying a 10,000 Sq. ft. site. Sterling machining currently turns over approximately £1.2 million per annum.
We offer peace of mind, reliable machined parts and fully finished products so whatever your requirements are for quality precision machined parts, Subcontract machining or single source manufacturing we can help.
We as a Company are proud of what we have achieved during a period of manufacturing decline in the UK. This achievement could not have been accomplished without our growing customer base returning again and again for a high quality end product at a competitive price. As a quality subcontract machining company we excel in precision engineering, CNC Turning, CNC Milling and a wide range of precision machined parts.
We are ISO: 9001 accredited which provides you with the confidence that your precision machined components are manufactured to the highest quality and standards. As a subcontract machining company we have a vast knowledge and ability to machine most materials including heat resistant super alloys and machining of exotic alloys.
To enable our customers to single source their products we offer other additional services such as heat treatment, plating and material sourcing through our tried and tested network of suppliers giving you everything you need from a Subcontract CNC machining company. |
